Limetree Villa is a luxurious and extra spacious one bedroom vacation villa with private HEATED pool and a spectacular Buck Island Ocean View located in the Villa Madeleine community on the beautiful East End of St Croix. Formerly a 2 bedroom villa, the second suite has been reconfigured as a very enjoyable Den with 55” tv, AppleTV, complimentary Netflix and other apps, 2 comfy recliner chairs and a handy 9’ laptop friendly mahogany worktop with swivel chairs overlooking the ocean. The Den includes a second bathroom with large garden shower. The standard tiny 1 person Villa Madeleine kitchen is wonderfully enlarged and replaced with a maple/granite/stainless gourmet kitchen with plenty of room for 2 people. WiFi is throughout the villa.
The location is at the highest point in the community, on a 200’ ridgetop with steady breezes. Limetree is also one of only six villas in the community with the stunning north view overlooking The Reefs golf course, the multi-hued blue ocean with breaking reef and Buck Island national preserve. You can watch the sailboats coming and going to Buck Island and on extra clear days you can see the hills of St Thomas and Tortola. At night in addition to the amazing stars you’ll see the lights of cruise ships passing on the horizon.
In the serene Bedroom Suite is a very comfortable mahogany four poster King bed with Tempur-Pedic mattress and resort quality bedding and linens. There is also a 43" tv, Apple TV and large marble garden shower. The bedroom makes a wonderful retreat after a fun day. One of many upgrades at Limetree, the typical noisy thru-wall AC units were replaced with whisper quiet mini-splits. So if AC is preferred just set to your desired temperature and sleep tight.
The Great Room is pleasantly furnished in casual chic and local art. The villa is set up with a nicely shaded and covered outdoor dining area on the patio, but if the weather does not cooperate or guests prefer to dine indoors there is a mahogany indoor dining set inside. The enlarged gourmet kitchen provides guests with a very functional space for 2 people to enjoy preparing delicious meals and cocktails together. The selection of cookware, dinnerware and utensils are top quality and very complete.
The additional space of the Den makes great additional living and lounging area and is directly connected with French doors to the walled and very private patio with chaises for sunning and its own 12x21 private and heated pool. For those unaware, winter season pool water temperatures on island average about 77 - 79 degrees which can be too chilly for some folks, including the owners. A super quiet heat pump pool heater is installed with temperature set at 84 degrees. Limetree is one of only two villas in the community with a heated pool. In the lush tropical garden just in front of the villa there is coconut, mango, guava and couple of key lime trees, hence the name Limetree Villa. If they are bearing fruit at the time of your visit, feel free to enjoy.
By day you may want to explore St. Croix including any of the lovely beaches (coolers, beach chairs and beach towels are provided) or shop, hike, play tennis at our community on site court (racquets and balls are provided), dive, snorkel (including the awesome underwater trail at Buck Island easily available via a catamaran sailboat picnic excursion), kayak, other water sports, horseback riding, play golf at one of 3 golf courses or just relax sunbathing on the very private terrace or laze on a float in your heated pool. By evening, dine at numerous excellent restaurants including one of our favorites Duggan’s Reef, on the beach just below Limetree or relax at the villa with cocktails, grilling and dining under the stars at your home away from home. Sync your Spotify to the Bose Wave and enjoy your favorite music.
Ample parking is just a few short steps away on a well lighted and landscaped walk, with only one step and no stairs. The gardens surrounding the Villa are lush with topical plantings making a very inviting entry when returning from day trips. For travelers visiting during the slightly warmer off-season, all rooms at Limetree have whisper quite mini split AC units.
Due its location, upgrades and unique features, Limetree is undoubtedly the finest vacation accommodation for a couple at Villa Madeleine. The peacefulness and privacy makes Limetree a perfect choice for a honeymoon, romantic escape or destination for a couple just traveling and seeking fun and sun.
